Our family is going on the Blue Water Round the World Cruising Rally.   We will depart in July 2009, crossing the sometimes treacherous Bay of Biscay and then south along the Portuguese and Spanish coast until we reach Gibraltar.  The rally commences from Gibraltar in October 2009 and includes about 30 yachts.  It will take about 20 months circumnavigating the world via the Panama and Suez canals.

We will be visiting some amazing places and hope to meet lots of people as we go.  Of course we will face many challenges.  Not just the challenges of navigation, weather and the threats of piracy but also those associated with bringing up children on board and maintaining relationships while living together in such a confined space!.
