It was a humbling but uplifting day when we went into one of the San Blas island villages and met local Kuna Indians.
Follow the shocking story when our 20ft long spinnaker pole fell from the mast knocking the skipper unconscious. Sheila and the children took it in their stride, contacting the US Coast Guard and sailing Miss Tippy for 8 hours to a safe harbour in Puerto Rico where Brian could be taken to hospital for treatment of his head injuries!

Our first cruise with the Rally took us to Smir in Morocco. Besides invigorating sailing we had great fun visiting the ancient town of Tetuan and local souks before returning home.
After about 2,000 miles we finished our voyage in Gibraltar. Even a near collision with a ferry off Tarifa didn’t dampen our enthusiasm as we reached the final stage of our first leg!
We had fog, dolphins and trouble steering through lobster pots at night during this leg of our journey!
