KING NEPTUNES PARTY

King Neptunes Ceremony.

King Neptune’s CROSSING THE LINE ceremony at the equator is an initiation ceremony to test that all shipmates are hardy, resourceful, brave and capable of handling long rough times at sea from one hemisphere to another!

A beauty contest traditionally takes place on board before proceedings.

MISS TIPPY’s clear winner is ……..TRANSVESDITE.

First time equator crossers such as Miss Tippy crew are nicknamed SLIMY POLLYWOGS.

Miss Tippy Pollywogs receive a summons to appear before King Neptune.

King Neptune gives out a TRUTH SERUM a disgusting elixer (lemon, salt, hot sauce and various concoctions)
serum!!!!

The serum is mixed secretly by DAVY JONES.

The Pollywogs are interrogated by King Neptune and to test their stamina the TRUTH SERUM is drunk.

Neptune must drink to show his bravery!

RAW EGGS are carried in the mouth while the ship rocks and rolls with the elements to test bravery at sea not a yolk was spilt!

The Pollywogs are obliged to undertake increasingly disgusting ordeals for the entertainment of King Neptune.

On Miss Tippy the squirmy slimy and really smelly SQUID NECKLACE must be worn for 10 minutes to pass the test to become a SHELLBACK .

A Shellback is a hardened salty sea sailor who has proven to be worthy of sailing on as crew to far distant shores in the southern hemisphere.Neptune passed his own test!

    I think you are completely wacky!! I think King Neptune was very brave having to kiss Transvidite, never mind wearing a squid necklace and drinking that foul concotion!

    We’ve just come back from Singapore and Malaysia and I see that you will be calling in sometime later in the year. Are you going up the east or west coast? We all fancy going out there to live – so you never know, The Hodgsons could be there to greet you at Singapore harbour!

    what a great few days – shame you didn’t find the squid in time for supper but glad to see you’re not wasting any resources. Think I’m happy being a pollywog for now but tempted by the gorgeous Neptune and Transvesdite!!

    Brian, I’ve been very worried about the possible side effects of that knock on the head and now it’s finally revealed it’s self. I final exposure of your feminine side.

    Sorry I haven’t been in touch sooner. Just work and plain survival. Sandra’s mother has died and we have had a house to dismantle. Thinking of you all. Great to see you are all having such a wonderful time.
