Miss Tippy at 00 degrees 000.000 minutes North and South!
Crossing the equator at night was a great event for the Tippys!

Miss Tippy crossed the equator in the middle a warm March night.
The boat was heavily heeled over to starboard, wind blowing across the port bow, sailing along at 8.5 knots.

An exciting midnight sail after a long rainy grey start to the Pacific.
02:00 hrs local time Charlie, Freddie and Annie were woken up to celebrate our crossing the middle of the earth.

We have been at sea for 8 months now and have looked forward to this waypoint for a long time.

The chart plotter shows Miss Tippy at the 00 degrees 000 minutes. 000 North position.

NORTON Champagne to celebrate!

Miss Tippy sails from the North Pacific to the South Pacific ocean and the moon shines for us through the clouds!

Mum and Annie have a cuddle.

Amazingly we see the Southern Cross star constellation. Although it may have been visible from the Northern hemisphere it brightens and beckons us towards the South Pacific.

Time for bed for the skipper, we are going to have a party tomorrow……….

……a traditional ceremony must take place to initiate the first time equator crossers……….we are all POLLYWOGS and must become SHELLBACKS !!
King Neptune must be worshipped in a ceremony to ensure safe passage across his ocean!
