R2R 16.3 Worse things happen at sea!
Well it’s been a while since we posted a film because my camera broke and I had to get a new one from UK. We hope to be catching up and publishing a few short films on our trip from Puerto Rico to San Blas and through the Panama Canal over the next week. Then there will be a pause while we sail over 3000 miles to the Marquesas.
We hope you enjoy this instalment which tells the tale of our accident at sea and how Sheila and the kids were able to sail Miss Tippy to a safe haven in Puerto Rico where the skipper was then taken care of in hospital. A scary time but one which has taught us many lessons!!!

Hi All
Great film guys and so pleased to see Brian looking well after his ordeal.
Kids you are all ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC for supporting your mum in a time of crisis at sea, which is always far worse than you can ever imagine!
We think it has probably brought you even closer than you were and now Team Miss Tippy are back on the cruise of a lifetime. Enjoy!
Wishing you all a very safe and happy passage – looking forward to next update.

Well, who needs school work. The lessons you have all learned in that situation will stay with you for a lifetime.
Stay safe and happy sailing

A very moving account of your bravery and management of such a scary accident. Freddie and Libby were goggle eyed for every second of the film which should win you international bravery awards. What a fabulous team you all are. Hope you now get R and R. Alison xx
I was looking information about Albinos in Panama and found your site.
Excellent video and footage.
Beautiful story about courage and team work. Hope Brian is feeling better and very proud of you kids. Good job!!
I look forward to catching new videos and pictures of your trip.

Hi to you all
We have just spent a very long overdue afternoon on your website and were absolutely amazed by all the stories. It looks fantastic and the account of the accident was incredible – you must be so proud of the children and Sheila you were an absolute star. I loved Freddie’s comment about TV! Take care and we will be looking again to see what you are all up to!

Congratulations all on surviving this fearful experience.
I recently attended a 2 day seminar at Annapolis Naval Academy covering all aspects of safety at sea for cruising yachts. Head injuries were a major topic with frequent references to preventers. There was no film that had the graphic details of the injury but which also showed how the crew managed to address the care of the victim as well as ensuring the safety of the boat. I would like to suggest that this film should be offered to them for the next seminar in April 2011. They would probably welcomne your experience. If you would be able to attend, I invite you to stay aboard Rebel Lady, which will be in Baltimore.
Brian and Sheila you have done a wonderful job to have three youngsters (they cannot be called children any longer), who were able to react so positively during this ordeal. But then, after meeting them in Gib, I am really not surprised.
Long may uour big jib draw. (A newfoundland wish for sailors to have fair winds and no need to reef)
Hi Miss Tippy, I have only just managed to watch this piece on your accident and I was overwhelmed with how well you all did. What a family!
With love and admiration!
